    America; Remember and Return
    Isaiah 1:1-5, 16-20

    Is America healthy and happy?

Dr. Charles Stanley, “We are eroding from within, we are destroying ourselves. Unless there is revival this nation is going to get worse and worse.”
Dr. James Kennedy, “We have forgotten God, turned our backs on God, we are without doubt in the process of destroying ourselves.”
Dr. John Hagee, “America is history, it’s dead, this nation is over without a broad, sweeping revival of righteousness.”
Dr. Bill Bright, “God has been insulted and now we are losing the very soul of America.”

A NATION THAT’S CONFUSED – 3 “The ox knows its owner and the donkey its master’s crib; but Israel does not know,

They Were Confused Concerning The Miracle Of Their Past. 2 “Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth! For the Lord has spoken: I have nourished and brought up children and they have rebelled against Me”

Abraham Lincoln said “We have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace and enriched us and strengthened us and we have vainly imagined that all things were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God who made us.”

{Christopher Columbus} “It was the Lord who put it into my mind to sail from here to the Indies, through rays of marvelous illumination from the Holy Scripture; the fact that the gospel must be preached to all the nations, this is what inspired me.”
The Pilgrims landed who on Plymouth Rock in 1620 wrote “We came here for the glory of God and for the advancement of the gospel of Jesus Christ.”

Isaiah 33:22 “For the Lord is our Judge {Judicial branch}, our Lawgiver {legislative branch} and our King {Executive branch}. It is He who will save us.”

George Washington, prayed “Direct my thoughts, words and work, wash away my sins in the immaculate blood of the Lamb and purge my heart by the Holy Spirit, daily form me more and more into the likeness of thy Son Jesus Christ.”

Patrick Henry said, “It cannot be emphasized too strongly or to often that this great nation was founded not by religionist but by Christians, not on religion but on the gospel of Jesus Christ.”

John Quincy Adams said, “From the time of the Declaration of Independence, the American people were bound by the laws of God & the laws of the gospel of Jesus Christ, which they all acknowledge as the root of their conduct. We all came together to obey the word of God.”

Thomas Jefferson said, “The first amendment had created a wall of separation between church and state but that wall is a one directional wall, it keeps the government from running the church but it makes sure that Christian principles will always stay in government

Dwight D. Eisenhower said, “Without God there could be no American form of government, nor an American way of life.”

They Were Confused Concerning The Meaning of Their Prosperity.

“He sought God… and as long as He sought the Lord, God made him prosper.” 2 Chron. 26:5

5 “the whole head is sick and the whole heart faints.”

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord…” Ps 33:12

They Were Confused Concerning Their Misery And Pain. 4-5 “Alas, sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a brood of evildoers, children who are corrupters! They have forsaken the Lord, they have provoked to anger the Holy One of Israel, they have turned away backward.”5 “Why should you be stricken again? You will revolt more and more. The whole head is sick and the whole heart faints.”

Thomas Jefferson said “Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure, when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but by His wrath. Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that His justice cannot sleep forever.”

A NATION THAT MUST CHOOSE- 18 “Come now, and let us reason together says the Lord, Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”

We Must Choose Reality And Not Ritual. 11-14 “To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices to Me? Says the Lord. I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams and the fat of fed cattle…” 12 “When you come to appear before Me, who has required this from your hand, to trample My courts?” 13 “Bring no more futile sacrifices…” 14 “…They are a trouble to Me, I am weary of bearing them.”

We Must Choose What’s Right And Not Wrong. 16 “Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil” 17 “Learn to do good; seek justice, rebuke the oppressor; defend the fatherless, plead for the widow.”

    “Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean”

“Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes.”

“Cease to do evil” 17 “Learn to do good”

“seek justice, rebuke the oppressor; defend the fatherless, plead for the widow.”

19 “If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land” 20 “But if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
