Why is there evil & suffering in this world?

God if you are a loving, all powerful God, why has this happened?

Vincent Bugliosi in his book “The Five Reasons that OJ Simpson Got Away with Murder” said “When tragedies like the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson & Ron Goldman occur they get one to thinking about the notion of God. Nicole was only 35, Ron was 25, both outgoing, friendly, well liked young people who had a zest for life. Their lives were brutally extinguished by a cold blooded murderer. How does God, if there is a God, permit such a horrendous and terrible act to occur along with countless other unspeakable atrocities committed by man against his fellow man thru out history? And how could God, all good & all just according to Christian theology, permit the person who murdered Ron and Nicole to go free… When Deidre Roberson read the jury’s not guilty verdict Nicole’s mother whispered, “God where are you?”

Gen. 1:31 “Then God saw everything that He had made and indeed it was very good.”

THERE’S THE ORIGIN OF SIN. 15 “Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.”

There Was A Command. 16, 17 “And the Lord God commanded the man saying, of every tree of the garden you may freely eat but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat…”

There Was A Confrontation. 1 – 3 “Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field…And he said to the woman, has God indeed said, you shall not eat of every tree in the garden? And the woman said to the serpent, we may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, you shall not eat of it…”

There Was A Crisis. 6 “So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.”
A Look Became A Lust. “when the woman saw”
A Desire Became A Decision. “she took”
A Choice Became A Chain. “and ate”
A Sinner Because A Seducer. “gave to her husband

THERE’S THE OUTCOME OF SIN. 7 “Then the eyes of both of them were opened and they knew that they were naked…” 8 “And they heard the sound of the Lord…”

Because of Sin There’s the Reality of Evil and Suffering.
There are 3 types of evil that exists in the world.
There is moral evil.
There is natural evil.
There is social evil.

“Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me if you have understanding.” Job 38:4

Because of Sin There’s a Response to Evil and Suffering.
Rom. 8:28 says “and we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”

Because of Sin there’s a Remedy for Evil and Suffering
Gen. 3:15 “And I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head and you shall bruise His heel.”
